Running a course

Resend a sign-in code

Send a new code when a trainee did not get the first email.

Before you start

Two different messages get confused. The invite is a link or a message you copy and send. The sign-in code is emailed when the person chooses Send me a code on the sign-in page. Elumio does not send the invite for you, and there is no control labelled resend.

Steps

  1. Open the course and find that person under Progress.
  2. Choose Copy invite message or Copy invite link only, and send it to the address you enrolled.
  3. Ask them to open the sign-in page and choose Send me a code, using that same address. The code email is what they type to get in. There is no password.

What happens next

A new code goes to the inbox for the address they typed. An old code stops being the one to use. Copying the invite again does not mint a second enrollment.

Common problems

  • If nothing arrives, check the enrolled address character by character, including spam. A code requested for a different address will not open this enrollment.
  • If the address itself was wrong, enroll the right one. Copying a link to an inbox they do not read will not fix it.
