Add a lecture
Add the video the trainee will watch, from a file or with AI, and attach it to the course.
Before you start
The course exists and Video lecture is on. You can also make a video under Videos and attach it afterwards. Nothing is stolen from another course when you attach a video the organisation already holds.
Steps
- Open the course.
- To upload a file you already have: under Upload a video, type a lecture title and choose Add lecture. On that lecture, choose Upload video while it holds none. Once it has a video, the same control reads Replace video.
- To use one the organisation already has: under Use a video from the library, type a lecture title and choose Choose a video.
- To have one written from a topic or a document: under Build one from a topic, choose Open the creator. The steps after that are in Create a video with AI.
- When the lecture is ready, choose Publish. A published course must be unpublished before another lecture can be added.
What happens next
Trainees who are enrolled can watch, once the course is published. Watch credit is recorded as they go. With Watch in order on, they cannot skip ahead into parts they have not watched.
Common problems
- The note Unpublish to add another lecture means the course is published. Choose Unpublish, add the lecture, then publish again. Unpublishing stops new people being enrolled. It does not take the course away from people already on it.
- If Videos is where you started, come back to the course and use Use a video from the library so the lecture is actually on this course.
- Opening the creator with no topic yet is covered in Create a video with AI.
