Get started
Set the assessment
Write the questions, the pass mark, and how many attempts a trainee gets.
Before you start
The course includes an Assessment. If that switch is off, the section says Not part of this course and offers Include an assessment. A published course must be unpublished before its questions can change. The banner says Published, so the questions are settled.
Steps
- On the course, open Assessment.
- Choose Create questions. If the bank already has some, the same door reads View and the number of questions.
- Choose Add question to write one yourself, or Generate from lectures to draft from the lecture. On a draft, accept the ones you want. Nothing is in the bank until you add them — the button names how many you accepted and ends “accepted questions to the bank”. Choose Discard the whole draft to throw that draft away.
- Back on the course, under Assessment rules, set Pass mark and Attempts allowed. Leave attempts empty for unlimited. The first time these rules are agreed, the button reads Confirm settings. After that it reads Save settings.
- Choose Publish when the course is ready for trainees.
What happens next
A trainee reaches the assessment only after the lecture is complete, when the course has both. A pass at or above the pass mark completes that part. If the course issues a certificate, it is issued when they pass.
Common problems
- Generate from lectures stays unavailable until the lectures have transcripts. The control says so.
- Changing questions on a published course is refused. Choose Unpublish first. That only stops new enrollments.
- A course with the assessment switched off never offers one. Finishing the video completes it.
